The Coach House
Just steps away from the Main House lies the Coach House, an historic Tudor building with orange bricks and thick wood beams that has more to tell than any other building we’ve worked in.
This adorable Family were very keen on start enjoying the Coach House as part of their daily life but its refurbishment had been put off for more then they would have wanted.
Several modifications and a big extension had been added to the original building following different purposes and uses throughout the decades but now it was their time.
The brief included spaces for family time and leisure activities such as a gym and a big area for friend gathering.
We thought of treating the floors, walls and ceilings as an absolute neutral background to maximise the space flow and allow the visuals to go further in every direction, while black wooden replacement windows help create a character somehow lost during time
Special mention here for the detached and inviting wood burning fireplace that stands out for itself acting as an assembly anchor.
