Studio in Kensington
This small and seductive lower ground floor in Kensington was owned by the family living next door but the two properties weren't internally connected.
We were therefore commissioned to incorporate it into the family house layout and rescue it from its abandonment.
Original features like plaster covings or a granite hearth were protected from the beginning in order to shape everything around them into a matching companion.
Different shades of grey and pale white tones were chosen for walls and ceilings and dark oak floors throughout lay in a herringbone pattern helped to achieve a better space continuity.
The bathroom and toilet were both treated in green in a search for that priceless contrast
By definition, a Pied a Terre is only for occasional use but the quality finishes achieved here are to last longer.
